Responsibilities

Alight Solutions is looking for a Java Developer/Analyst

 

The Java Developer/Analyst -Technology Support leverages knowledge to research system issues of medium to high complexity.  May lead team in resolution of issues/incidents, and takes on process improvement projects.  May support/lead other analysts in managing issues and incidents.  You may also be responsible for coaching other team members and performing quality reviews of the work of other team members.  Must demonstrate strong client service, urgency, problem solving, learning agility and versatility to learn technology to stay abreast of trends and the latest technology.

 

 QUALIFICATIONS

  

Education:

 

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Electronics/Electrical Engineering essential.

 

Required Experience (3-5 Years):

 

  • Experience in development and support of large and complex transactional applications using J2EE technology
  • Proven ability to use expertise to solve complex issues and incidents.
  • Web Services experience (REST, SOAP/WSDL/XSD, including WS-Security, XML DSIG), Apache Axis2 / Rampart
  • Java EE (servlets, EJB, JSPs, etc)
  • Experience developing thread-safe components
  • Subversion or similar SCM experience
  • Ant, Maven, Continuous Integration concepts

 

Preferred Experience:

 

  • Cryptography experience using Java
  • Experience with multiple communications protocols including HTTP(S), IBM MQ, etc.
  • Experience with IBM DB/2 or other SQL database servers
  • WebSphere, Tomcat, JBoss application deployment, Eclipse IDE
  • Experience working with diagnostic tools such as New Relic, VisualVM, MaintainJ
  • Experience working with integrated on and off shore teams
  • Experience working as part of a virtual team

 

Major Job Responsibilities

        

  • Troubleshoots system issues and incidents of medium to high complexity.
  • Diagnoses and resolves complex software and hardware incident tickets within established SLAs.
  • Responsible for development, unit testing meeting quality and code review standards.
  • Provides governance of all tickets associated with defined scope including production of relevant reports and dashboards.
  • Leads team members in resolving incidents and performing routine operating activities.
  • Identifies trends based on past issues and incidents and leads initiatives to address those trends.
  • Evaluates and executes platform level changes.
  • Demonstrates broad expertise across software and infrastructure components and continues expanding on that expertise.
  • Independently drives process improvement projects that support the team and group objectives.
  • Participates in project execution
