Alight Solutions is Looking for A Defined Contribution Solutions Leader (Level 4)


The Defined Contribution (DC) Client Leader (or Solutions Client Lead, SCL) is accountable for the defined contribution Solutions connected to defined contribution and welfare administration at Alight Solutions, including recordkeeping, point solution delivery, communications and compliance. The role must deliver expertise across broad market trends, marketplace solutions, operations, compliance, and product currency. The SCL is responsible for supporting our clients in their strategy development through execution.  This role leads governance and stewardship for the suite of defined contribution solutions delivered for a client.  The SCL requires strong relationship management with the client and internal teams connected to defined contribution solutions. In addition, the SCL develops, maintains and supports a long-term strategic view of the relationship.  


Job Responsibilities:

  • Define and measure success in the eyes in the client
  • Continuous improvement – Working with CEs to ensure client excellence plans are in place and be on point defined contribution delivery 
  • Own, Know and operate with the facts and data
  • Own root cause of issues and put plans in place 
  • Create and execute on client-specific plan to increase penetration of defined contribution solutions from across Alight Solutions for assigned clients, in partnership with the account executive
  • Serve as primary client touch point for all matters related to defined contribution administration programs for assigned clients
  • Manage and resolve client escalations with defined contribution services and solutions  Responsible for hitting targets related to client profitability, operational metrics, product currency, and client satisfaction with defined contribution services
  • Develop talent within the solution group and service operations organization to create a pipeline of future client managers
  • Own development, coaching and people management responsibilities for CM’s
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on a key area of defined contribution solutions to the broader population of defined contribution colleagues; participate in L&D efforts on this topic
  • Remain informed and abreast of industry developments, the regulatory and legislative landscape, and the competitive marketplace
  • Proactively deliver ideas and solutions based on client need, population demographics, regulatory and legislative developments and market trends
  • Jointly participate in creating agenda and materials for quarterly reviews. Lead quarterly reviews with clients on all defined contribution solutions.  Ensure we have connections with our consulting groups (both when we do consulting and when we are not the consultant)
  • Accountable for all delivery from a client’s point of view
  • Actively participate during implementation phase of new clients

Education & Certification  

  • Role may require licensing to the extent regulated services are included
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Masters Preferred 

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

  • 10+ years prior work experience in Sales/Sales Support/retirement administration operations  
  • 3-5+ Years Senior Level Management Experience
  • External client exposure/consulting experience - experience with concepts in business-to-business and/or business-to-business-to-consumer is important   
  • Experience collaborating effectively in a team environment and accountability for team results - must be comfortable and skilled in developing strategic plans, as well as executing tactics in a hands-on environment  
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Prior outsourcing experience highly desired – with ability to quickly understand the Alight Solution model and ongoing operations. Knowledge of retirement, health, and talent preferred
  • Strong communication skills. Provides information to others both internal and external to the organization; represents the organization to customers and other external sources  
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support team building: Builds mutual trust and encourages respect and cooperation among team members 
  • Strong ability to establish alliances with other departments and organizations by recognizing dependencies in order to assess potential partnership and commitment to the program
  • Sales experience; ability to sell services to large, complex client
